I love Science. After all I am a trained scientist. As a Christian however, Science sometimes, tends to take positions that are somewhat perplexing to me on some vital, biblical issues. Particularly when such positions are diametrically opposed to the basic, minimum understanding/belief of Christianity as contained in the scriptures.

For instance, Science believes that the origin of species is some accidental fusion or collision of some organic particles, in some strange location on the face of the Earth, some thousands if not millions of years ago. In other words Science assumes that we got here predominantly as a result of some accidental interplay of molecules leading to some staggered, practically random, unpredictable happenstance, possibly in accordance with the theory of Evolution as propounded by Charles Darwin. Interesting!

That could mean that Man and every creation on the planet came into existence and continue to be in existence simply by share chance or some accidental co-incidence. People, who purely subscribe to that line of reasoning, find it difficult to believe in the existence of the Almighty God as the creator of heaven and Earth as clearly stated in Gen.1:1-27. Such people also find it difficult to believe that things on this planet don’t just happen by accident, but that things happen in accordance with the will and wish, plan and purpose of the God of Heaven whose name is Alpha and Omega; the beginning and the end (Rev. 1:8).

The Bible tells us, and we believe that we didn’t get here by accident; we got here by the plan of the Almighty God who, through his son Jesus Christ, is the creator of the universe. God created everything that was made. (Jn 1: 1-4). The good news is that God didn’t just create us to be mere visitors to this world. He brought us here for a purpose. In Isa 46: 8-11 God tells us that he knows the end from the beginning. He promised us that his counsel and purpose shall surely stand. Even if it means calling a ravenous bird from the East or a man that will execute his counsel from a far country, God will do all his pleasure and his counsel shall surely stand.

Friend, God has a definite design/plan for our lives. He knows where we came from, he knows where we are now and sure he knows where we are heading to. Nothing happens by chance with Jehovah El-Shaddai.

You may say to  me: “ pastor you mean God knows me personally and cares what/how I am doing; whether I am fed or hungry; happy or sad; with job or jobless; married or single; barren or with children; healthy or sick?” My answer to you is an emphatic yes! Why? The scripture said so. God said he has called you by your name (Isa. 43:1) and he knew you even from conception (Jer. 1:5). Check this out for a moment: The world’s population today is in billions. In spite of that huge population, no two human beings on this planet have exactly the same finger prints. Yet a computer, using finger prints (made by God), can identify any individual from a data base containing billions of human names. If a computer, made by Man, can have that ability, how much more would our God, who is the creator of Man that made the machine.

Friend, we are not here by accident. You didn’t get here by chance. We, as Christians, are products of a well-mapped out, well- programmed divine design; Our God knows who we are, he knows the path we shall pass through on our journey on Earth. You are not experiencing what you are passing through now by accident. Nobody on your path to destiny even now came to you by chance. It is not chance for instance that you are as much as reading this article now. As long as you are a child of God everything comes to pass according to the will of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. The Bible says in Rom 8:29 that for whom he did foreknow he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his son. In Prov. 3: 6 the word of God tells us that if we acknowledge God in all our ways he shall direct our paths. Yet In Ps. 37:23 the Bible says that the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.

Hundreds, if not thousands, of years before Jesus Christ was born, Isaiah had prophesied in Isa 9:6 that the messiah was coming. He described his name and also his office. I am convinced that If someone had asked an ‘Isaiah’ then to look into the year 2012, he would probably have prophesied that there would be a ‘you’ in existence on this planet at this moment doing what you are doing now for God; having the experience you are having now in that geographical part of this planet where you are presently located. You are a project thought out through and through and perfectly executed by the creator of Heaven and Earth.

God knew Mordecai. He also knew King Ahasuerus. In between the two of them was a Haman. God allowed Bigthan and Teresh to do what they did, he allowed Haman to do what he did so that he will use a combination of those two situations to bring Mordecai into the presence of  King Ahasuerus in fulfiment to his path to greatness and destiny (Esther 2:21-23,6:1-11).

There are some people in your life now that you are obviously not comfortable with. They may not be your best of friends. If anything, you may rather classify them as your enemies. Unknown to you and also to them, God has allowed them in the equation of your life to serve as vehicles that will catapult you to the next level towards the realization of your divine purpose in redemption.

When we have a good understanding of this, we will treat everyone that comes our way specially and with a great deal of respect and appreciation. When you reflect back into your life you will find someone who at a particular point in time was a total stranger. Today, however, that fellow is a dear friend as a result of what God had done by making your paths to cross. You may regard the circumstance, under which the two of you met, as an accident; a mere co-incidence, but unknown to you, all that happened by divine design.

In John 6:5-13 Jesus had finished preaching to a great multitude and they were hungry. He asked whether there was food to be given to them and the apostles quickly told him that the only food in that ‘camp ground’ was 5 barley loaves of bread and 2 small fishes that belonged to a small boy; a stranger. Wait a minute! In that gathering it was only one small boy that had that provision? Where did that boy come from? Who sent him? How did he remember to bring 5 barley loaves and 2 fishes? Did someone know that those will be needed and accordingly prepared the boy for that service? Read John 6:6! Jesus already knew what he would do! It was not an accident at all. You may think that the boy got there by chance? No! God strategically positioned him there as an agent of the fulfillment of the miraculous in the lives of the famished multitude.

From the beginning God knew where you would be at every material point in time. Accordingly he had positioned men and women on your path to help you; to take you further. God knows those who will be on your path either in fulfillment of destiny and even those who will be in your path to attempt to stop you from reaching your goal. He knows and has taken care of all.

Stop complaining about that job. Stop complaining about that position. You are there for a reason and for a season. There are those that God has already lined up on your path to bring his purpose to come to pass. Whether you are aware of their presence or not, their mission is time-specific. When their time on your path is up, they will simply move on. Whether you like where you are presently located or not, whether you like the people that surround you now at work, home, church etc or not; whether you like that house girl, that visitor, that stranger in your house at the moment or not; There is a reason why God allowed them to come your way. There is reason why your paths are crossing at this time.  If you still have a lot of questions concerning these people ask God to give you a revelation.

Remember, if God could cause an innocent boy to bring 5 barley loaves of bread and 2 small fishes to a strange camp ground, the same God can cause a man from a far country to come and execute his counsel upon your life, family and ministry in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Friend, we didn’t get here by accident. We are on this planet by divine design.

If you have not given your life to Christ please do so now for tomorrow might be too late.
